Do you have a story to share on rejection alchemising into hope?

Following on from my announcement earlier this year, I have set up all the invitation flow for you to submit your work to my online anthology project ‘The Rejection Palace’.

The concept is that our stories of rejection and hope make up a collective quest of learnt experiences to support others.

Do you want to be part of a creative project spanning three years of my research on the topic of rejection?

I’m currently writing a memoir focussed on my own stories of rejection and hope - tough subject but I’m 10k words in thanks to the cheerleading of the Heart Leap gang over at

Suzy Walker

’s Substack community.

The community invite

You are invited to write and submit up to 500 words on a vignette of rejection in your life/ past. I’m looking for stories you’ve transformed into hope/ action. 

You can write on any element of rejection; romantic, work, family, self… you choose. Variety is great! 

Deadline for round one – 1^st August 2024

Deadline for round two – 1^st January 2025

I will publish a set of the stories in a set of collections on my Substack here on ‘Creatively Conscious’ from September 2024. I’m imagining give interest so far, there’ll be enough stories for a set each season…

If you want to submit to the project, you’ll need to send me;

-       A photo of yourself

-       And one to accompany the piece

-       The piece (up to 500 words) with a title

-       Your name, pronouns and short bio

-       One place people can connect to you online eg; your Substack, instagram.

You can read your piece and send the audio if you’d prefer.

You are welcome to also publish this on your own Substack and/ or a longer version if you like - please tag me in?

The process and reach  

My Substack post go directly to over 2000 readers, I will also share the project on Notes and on other platforms.  I regularly get over 3500 views on my posts and my subscriber base is building each week.

There is no fee to submit.

Paid members here at Creatively Conscious will automatically be published in the online anthology as a thank-you for your support.

Depending on the volume, I will make curatorial decisions on other submissions. It is my hope to fund and make a physical book out of the stories and send you all a copy.
