Going inside - the post I wanted to delete
A breakdown of continually doing the work and sharing the results...
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.”
― Brene Brown
I wrote this paragraph in this month’s Notes from the Sea;
“Look out for a creative business nuts and bolts post on this and my first ever £12k month coming later this month to paid subscribers.
I don’t share this to be showy, I share this to share possibility for us all in working part time and embodying slow living as a lifestyle not as an aesthetic.”
I scheduled it before I left for my holiday abroad knowing it felt vulnerable to share. Also knowing I would have no way to edit it as I wasn’t taking my laptop abroad!
In all honestly, If I’d have access to my Substack account while I was away on holiday I would have deleted it. Not the whole post - just that line.
I purposefully tricked myself. 😆
Instead I rode out the wave of discomfort and re-read a Brene Brown book on kindle when the vulnerability hang over was too much. Why? Because I want to support others to follow their Big Dreams and quiet ambitions too and sometimes we have to push past our own stories in order to show up!
