How to navigate rejection...
Kind words, delightful and surprising cross over and heart centred humans.
“Thank you so much for yesterday. You are brilliant at what you do!”
If I’m having an “off” week I dig into my creative toolbox and have a look at my “kind words”' email folder, testimonials on my website and my recommendations here on
How lovely a thing is it that other people take the time to write nice things about your work… it’s such a boost especially when you feel in a tangle, you’ve had a rejection or a ‘no reply’. Perhaps you’re in a season of questioning your energy output and where or your direction in general…
Do you save kind words and have you checked your recommendations and nice things people have written about you here on Substack? Perhaps you can schedule a couple of pomodoro slots in your month to write kind words for others?
If you want to do that on Substack simply head to ‘recommendations’ in your writer dashboard.
Here’s what some Substack writers, authors and creatives said in recommending my publication;
The Light on the Sea - Lovely, mindful, creative space and support from Claire
Heart Leap - Inspiring and useful posts on how to live a creative life that makes you happy
Simple & Calm - I love Claire's take on slow living. Her creativity & wellbeing posts are infectious, and her Substack tips are inspiring. I get SO much from subscribing to Claire's Substack 🤍
Kindle Curiosity - Claire is a brilliant mentor for creative souls. She has a way of making things simple which is so valuable for an "over thinker" like me. I love her slow lived podcasts most of all. ✨🐚💫
StarStyle® Empowerment - From the heart writing plus wonderful garden info.
Motherhood Minute - Perfect for the creative mother who wants prompts and ease in their creative life.
The Rising of the Divine Feminine - I'm loving reading about how Claire Venus creates community with "conversations around creativity, wellbeing, neuro-diversity, empowerment, our planet, permaculture and the slow lived life"✨🌟💖🙏🕊️😘
Self Love Bites - A blessing of a read for creatives!
Memoir Junkie Wannabe Author - Claire is another Substacker who gave me tons of advice on how to grow and be more involved in this community. Her site is about "falling back in love with writing 'long form' in a place where it felt quieter and easier to share my voice.'" I love her podcasts too. Can't go wrong with an English accent, amite?
The Untrodden Path - Claire has a way of cultivating a cosy community of creatives with her honest and down-to-earth writing.
Sails on the Horizon - Soulful Slow Living
WOW - I mean what a boost and I feel so full of direction and creativity after reading those. Thank-you to everyone who has written me a recommendation and brought new eyes to my work since I started here on Substack last April. 💜 Your shares and comments and recommendations mean so so much to me and my family.
