Life is a series of moments stitched together to make memories. When my PR expert
suggested I have a UK book launch for my co-authored book I wasn’t sure.I guess I felt like it was a thing to organise, an invite to take up (yet more)? space, a moment I would have to find in a busy summer.
Here’s what I loved about my book launch…
I was fully myself - mum, wife, author, frazzled hot person
My friends came who deeply understand me and my work
It was in my local indie book shop
I made pick and mix sweetie bags for my guests
People who have only ever met online met in real life
We had cake afterwards back at mine.
Everyone took and sent me loads of lovely photos.
I didn’t want to feel like I’d organised a massive event and had people to manage, I just wanted people to come, feel relaxed and connect to a moment in time so that’s what we did.
Huge shout out to Helen and
at The Accidental Book Shop for supporting all us local authors - they are true super stars!
Congratulations on your book launch , it looks like low pressure and delightful 💖
Sounds like a wonderful book launch!
