It struck me when everyone was introducing themselves on ‘Substack Notes’ this week that I’d like to extend this invite to a more permanent space here on my own Substack.
So I’ve created this invite to ‘Gather Round the Fire’ just for a moment so we can move away from the faster paced spaces and take some time to introduce ourselves…
What would be your favourite drink to bring to a circle?
I’d really like/ LOVE to know more about you and for you to meet and find other online friends in the comments too.
I have a few lines in my automated welcome email to invite this but people rarely reply so I’ve made a post to hopefully turn into a thread here where we can introduce ourselves and chat more.
I’ll link the post in my footer so new subscribers can make their way over too.
I’ll write more in the comments.
I’m Claire - I find introducing myself extraordinarily difficult but in essence, I’m a Creative and a Mum with passion for the slow life. I live here in Northumberland. Its April 11th we’ve had the fire on all day. Our pet chickens are all layings eggs again and there’s the promise of Spring in the air… soon, really soon.
Let me know something about you? What brought you here to Substack?
Cx
Hey Claire and other lovely creatives!
I joined Substack to write about my passion for a slow more intentional life. I first heard of Substack via the Hashtag Authentic podcast by Sara Tasker with Farrah Storr.
Instagram used to be my hangout, but I just wasn’t able to get my writing across there. As soon as I found Substack it just clicked and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I do feel like I’ve ‘met’ lots of creatives with a similar passion for slow living here. I wish Substack would create a category for us slow/ intentional living accounts so we could easily find each other.
I would bring a thermos of coffee to the camp fire 🤍
Hello, I love this idea even if I hate trying to introduce myself (one of the reasons I am yet to post on my page is that doing an intro post feels really uncomfortable). I am a crocheter, general crafter, cat human and keeper of two incredible badly behaved knees that require far more time and attention than I would like.
The hashtag authentic podcast pointed me in the direction of substack and I really love the slower pace and atmosphere here. As soon as I arrived something clicked and it felt like this would be the perfect home for a crochet based newsletter I have had in my head for years. My instinct is telling me that despite not having any form of community or connections yet it is the right time to try.
Beverage wise if I am feeling really indulgent it would be a proper hot chocolate (hotel chocolate 70%dark) but more likely tea with a teensy bit of milk.
