Much magic found in a (more) slow lived approach...
A ‘Creatively Conscious’ end of winter season review.
“Do whatever brings you to life, then. Follow your own fascinations, obsessions, and compulsions. Trust them. Create whatever causes a revolution in your heart.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear
Q1 2023 is done but chapters of a year sound and feel so much more romantic to work within…
Hello!!
This post is for my paid subscribers to share more ‘behind the curtain’ of my breakthroughs in my slow lived creative life and work.
I wanted to start by saying I write and create here from a place of privilege. With that privilege comes confidence (although not always) 🙈
I know both my dedication, attitude and early experiences with creativity kept me determined to peruse a life long career in it. Creativity is my lifeblood. It takes courage to be a creative but I think I would be depressed and unfulfilled without it.
I knew from an early age that’s what I was here to do, to use, to explore. I just had to/ have to figure out how and when and if I could make a living from it.
Cultivating Trust
I’ve been freelance since 2008 and my company of one ‘Creatively Conscious’ was established 9 years later.
My intent with reframing my work at that time, was to use my creativity to anchor and harness everything I said “yes” to for work. After a period of troublesome contracts, I wanted to switch out of being “locked into” them and feeling trapped.
The planning and reflection process I started helped and anchored me in that. It helped me spot my mistakes and stay connected to my more heart centred work and purpose.
