Wandering for a while in Wonderland
I’m really excited to have found a platform I want to spend time writing for and reading on.
It’s a BRAND new blank page called Substack and it feels like such a wondrous and unexpected gift!
Not because we don’t have/ use other online platforms but because this one is new (to me) and feels complete different!
Familiar, somehow…
A call away from noise and overwhelm into a more tranquil and ordered place.
Less of a Wild West style assault on the senses and more of a serene and measured invitation to read and write gently.
After questioning (for longer than I’d like to admit) the inevitable part video has to play in “staying relevant” to my current audience and building it I paused and tuned in.
I decided dead against squeezing myself as if sickly orange three-day-old jelly through the metal sieve world of feeding the algorithm beast and spending my precious hours making fast paced video.
Making finger pointy reels for Instagram or creating for a hungry TikTok audience is just 🥴 and NOT my zone of genius. What’s more I don’t need to try it to learn that because there is space elsewhere - I’m moving over, across the internet, side stepping the fast paced stuff.
I’m finally home.
Substack is for me and my flow state akin to that perfect (sustainable cotton) dress you love, hold up, try on and then rush straight to the till to buy with money you earnt in abundant flow all in the space of less than 20 minutes. What colour would yours be? Mine would be yellow.
As I get to grips with how to nurture a voice that wants to speak here I hope you’ll get curious enough to come along with me.
As we navigate this important but devastatingly difficult point in human history post pandemic, post brexit (here in the UK), I’m making this first post as commitment to myself and all the parts of my authentic creative voice.
"It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then."
Alice in Wonderland
To me, there is always a before and an after. A yesterday and today.
And today I invite you to join me to share experiences here.
To connect back to yourself, the earth, the planet and walking your true glorious path of your beautiful but fragile reality.
Take my hand, take comfort in the watery reflections back to you words can bring.
Spiral back to yourself or simply stroll by my side along a sandy beach as we chat.
We don’t (and we never had to) go it alone.
