On (Heart Centred) Decision Making
for your creative work and life... slow lived entrepreneurial style!
Anyone else just feel like we are presented with a gazillion options a day?
On that… how are you finding Substack? Another place to show up or an integral part of who you are and what you do now?
Maybe you signed up to some paywalled content to try it out or because you didn’t want to miss out - is it serving you, is it useful and a nice place to hang out?
I’m trying to find a balance here for my paying membership… it’s hard we all have a slightly different band width and different things to manage/ things pulling for our attention…
I want my posts to feel nurturing and nourishing to you and I also want to balance being of service with showing up to write expressively because it’s a beautiful thing to do and I can’t do it in the same way without a paywall for many many reasons…
The pressure we feel as modern human can be deafening… I’m not saying this is the inside of my brain I’m simply rattling through the many many thoughts of me and my clients, my friends, my family, the people who reflect the work I do back to me in subtle ways they don’t even know…
Post on instagram - now share that to stories, grow your business, no faster than that, write a budget, a business plan, research new jobs, listen to this podcast, be a brilliant parent, watch this TV series, catch up with a friend in person in real time, be a “good” friend, read ‘the’ book, no strike that 50 books this year, get some professional photos, take more photos, make more memories, book that holiday or at least a spa afternoon, and a weekend away, take a class, a PHD, build up your savings, exercise - but do it everyday, drink water - no much more than that, try this new mushroom thingy, follow this person on all their platforms, go for a health check, did you sleep 8 hours? wait it’s time to plant seeds for summer, there are 4 birthdays this month, organise your personal brand but do it better, pull back your digital footprint, emails cost energy, don’t compare yourself, organise a bbq for the neighbours and their kids, oh and some therapy, book an MOT and a service for the car, tidy the messy cupboard, how many months until Christmas now …. H O L D on.
With this much input coming in at us how on earth can we hear ourselves think to make decisions on what we REALLY need and want for our lives and our businesses?
Since 2019, I’ve been using a heart centred decision making process in my business that really helps me to understand and negotiate what I need it to be for me.
I want to share it with you so that it might/ could influence you to look at making one for yourself so that the decision overwhelm morphs into decision ownership in the most congruent way for you…
